I was covering on call for a couple of hours this evening so I headed to the quarry pool at Whitemoor Haye to see what was about. Birds noted were Mute Swan, Tufted Duck, Carrion Crow, Black Headed Gull, Swallow, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Pochard, Great Crested Grebe, Canada Geese, Starling, Mallard, Greenshank, Pied Wagtail, Common Sandpiper, Wren, Robin, Sand Martin, Sparrowhawk and Stock Dove. A quick drive around the lanes and I added Little Owl, Grey Heron and Woodpigeon.
